On March 13, 2020. One of US think tank Hudson Institute has public a research paper call "Geopolitical Implications of the Coronavirus". In this paper, it mention this virus pandemic not just for the public health, but also the global financial crisis, the global stock market fluctuation already proven that this is not just related to health.
Since I am focusing on Asia Pacific region, the U.S.-China geoeconomic competition is my concerns and interesting part. There are four points from that reports should be carefully watch.
It is not doubt that this Coronavirus will significantly impact the people living and working in Asia region, and most likely some of change could be permanently. Hence will impact the current Hong Kong role in economic globalization, which is mainly acting as services role to bridge the mainland China to the rest of world. Due to distance social become main stream in post coronavirus era, people will more reply on internet video conference to run business. The mainland China unlikely to loose the internet control for western social software, The bridge role of Hong Kong need to shift to virtual and remote operation.
